ABOUT THE CUBBYHOLE |
|
The Cubbyhole is a neighborhood bar catering to the Butch Gay Community of Fort Lauderdale and surrounding towns. We have customers that drive as far as West Palm Beach and Miami/South Beach to enjoy the "Hole". We're home for a lot of the local bears, and we organized and run a bear bowling league, we are "Where The Bears Are". We opened Halloween Weekend in 1995 and over Halloween 2006 we celebrated our eleventh anniversary. Founded by John and Jay originally from Asbury Park, New Jersey. They bought the property and existing business from a couple who operated it for years as "Lesters", a straight diner type operation. They were probably known best for their Corned Beef Sandwich's and icy cold beer. After closing Lester's in August of 95' and doing major renovations we reopened in our current format. We continue to have the coldest beer in town, draft beer being served in frozen 16 oz glasses, and of course all your favorites in bottles as well. Mixed drinks, sure, we are a full liquor bar. We also serve food daily and are known throughout town to have the best burgers in town, Butchburger's we call them. The menu can be seen elsewhere on the website. Our chef Howie has daily specials that are out of this world too. Music is another one of our specialties. We have one of the most diverse digital CD Juke Boxes in town with a very eclectic taste. Everything from Classics, Dance, Rock, even a few Show Tunes. Coupled to a Bose Sound system, its wonderful. In addition to the music, there are now HI-DEF monitors in all corners displaying different shows, sports specials, weather, etc. We use Direct TV for our HI-DEF Source. Also we have four touchscreen video games and a pool table. As if that isn't enough, we have five 19" flat screen computers for our customers use. These are connected to a ultra fast DSL line and they are TOTALLY FREE for customers. Access your email, get on AOL, cruise Manhunt, surf away. Have your laptop with you? Enjoy our wireless 802.11b/g, its FREE too. Just ask an employee for the code to get in. Also, for your convenience, we accept credit cards, AND we have an ATM on premises. We're easy to find on Federal Highway, just 8 blocks north of downtown, remember, our entrance is in the rear. |
